Hello everyone! We are going to learn Go from today on.

-- Co? Go? why?
--JYang loves it! As the saying goes, "A Go touching leads to an unknown fascinating world like sea". Once involved, in lifelong obsession. Although JYang is not a Go master player, he has been Go and Chess hobbyist since childhood. Although he is not playing excellently, not so well, just so-so, but he is not a “stinky chess player”.

There are so many different board games in the world. But as we know, the rules of Go are definitely the simplest. Despite its simplest rules, Go is the most learned game. Why, you don’t believe it? Then take a look at the Go board, definitely the largest of all chess! And with a total of 361 pieces(stones) including 181 black ones and 180 white ones, its number of pieces is absolutely the highest of all chess!

What is more, more and more people suffer from depression and Alzheimer's disease. Learning Go can effectively prevent such diseases. After all, Go is an excellent intellectual sport. Go and swimming are our best health guards.

JYang fears Alzheimer's disease, as well as depression! Thus JYang will keep learning Go from now on. If you really wish to learn Go, I mean don’t force yourself, keep following up to learn together with JYang. Don't miss this opportunity.

好,我们闲言少叙、书归正传。我们的学习将分若干次,从基本知识到基本规则 从基本技巧到基本战术,从战略布局到收官。活到老学到老嘛,一定要耐心啊!

Well, let’s get down to our business now. We will learn from overview to basic moves, then from basic rules to basic tactics, and then from strategic overall layout to closing, in several sessions. Let’s live and learn! Do be patient!

Note: the contents are at the bottom. As there is a lot to learn, we will first show you the contents of basic rules, basic moves and basic tactics, and later the contents of strategic overall layout and closing.

Today let’s learn something about Go.

1 关于围棋 About Go

Go (Weiqi) is one of the world's greatest strategic board games and originated in China over 4,000 years ago, then spreading to the entire world.

Go is recognized by the scientific community that Go has a huge impact on children's psychological development, especially in reasoning, and it can prevent or cure depression, Alzheimer's disease, etc.

As a strategic board game, Go provides almost limitless possibilities, despite its just a few simple rules.

It will take a little while to grasp the rules but a long time to master them. Just for amateur players, the level rating is divided into two, namely 25 levels of Kyu (25K-1K) for beginners, and then up to 8 levels of Dan (1D -8D).
